A little tidbit that I remembered when reading your article in Smithsonian. There is a made-for-TV Agatha Christie movie titled ‘A Caribbean Mystery’. In one scene Miss Marple, among other hotel guests, are listening to a presentation. She is sitting next to Ian Fleming when the speaker introduces himself: “My name is Bond, James Bond.” Mr. Fleming quickly looked up, and made a note of it.
